Geometric shapes are an excellent learning set that playfully introduces children to the basics of geometry. With this material, children can become familiar with and learn basic shapes such as spheres, cubes, cylinders and other figures.
Working with the shapes, children learn to recognise and name their properties, and to compare them with everyday objects, for example an orange or a tower. The set develops fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination and spatial thinking. Various tasks, such as sorting shapes by whether they roll, topple or stand upright, comparing base areas or working with closed eyes, promote perception, concentration and language development.
